Andreina Romero is a freelance writer originally from Venezuela, now based in Port Coquitlam, BC. Her focus is book reviews and commentary on music, arts, and culture. Andreina has written book reviews for the immigrant-focused news platform New Canadian Media and for the feminist literary magazine Room. Together with her sister, she is also the co-creator and co-host of Wigs and Candles, a podcast about their obsession with period film. In her personal writing, Andreina writes about her immigrant experience, her struggles with mental health, and her profound desire to find transcendence from everyday life through art.

Non-Fiction: A Glossary Volume 10, Issue 4

Andreina Romero dismantles herself with a dictionary in Non-Fiction: A Glossary, a raw, searching essay about a BPD diagnosis, the fear that desire itself might be a symptom, and the terrifying question of whether the woman who has always wanted to write ever really existed at all.
