Eric Prost, writer

Eric Prost was born in Ohio, grew up in Canada, and now lives in Kingston, Ontario. Before medical school, he studied medieval history in Canada and the UK and taught middle school in Tajikistan. Since medical school, he has practised psychiatry in East Africa and at Queen’s University in Kingston, where he has now settled into a satisfying routine of treating patients, teaching students, and writing—both dry academic articles as well as essays and short stories.

Prix Fixe Volume 6, Issue 4

Like Alfred Hitchock’s film, Rope, which appeared to be filmed in one continuous long shot in real time, Prix Fixe by Eric Prost doesn’t change scenes or setting; instead, the reader must endure the luncheon meeting between a son and his father, where the idiosyncrasies of both men are invited to take centre stage.

Long and White — Volume 4, Issue 2

In his story, Long and White, Eric Prost explores the endurance required to watch a parent fade, and the plethora of emotions a child faces when confronted with death.
