Moni Brar, poet

Moni Brar is a settler on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7 Region and Metis Nation Region 3, also known as Calgary. She is a Punjabi, Sikh Canadian writer exploring diasporan guilt, identity, cultural oppression, and intergenerational trauma. She believes in the possibility of healing through literature. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in PRISM international, Rogue Agent, Mobius, Existere, Hart House Review, Ricepaper, as well as various anthologies. She is a member of the League of Canadian Poets, the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and New Forum Magazine’s editorial board.
