Alan Hill
Alan Hill, poet
Alan Hill has been writing since working and living in Botswana twenty-five years ago. It was there, as he learned his craft, he discovered the power of the poem to transport the writer and reader on a shared journey to the barrier of the known and unknown. He discovered that place where logic, instinct, and feeling converge. He keeps writing and reading and living life in the hope he can return to that place as often as possible. He is a former Poet Laureate of the City of New Westminster, British Columbia and his latest book In the Blood was published by Caitlin Books in 2022.
In Praise of the North — Volume 10, Issue 2
In Alan Hill’s wry poem In Praise of the North, we observe him stranded at a Walmart where he finds something like freedom in anonymity and unlimited condiments.
