Derin Emre Born and raised in Istanbul, Derin Emre graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Comparative Literature; co-founded the YouTube channel Yes Theory, which currently has almost ten million subscribers; co-written the feature Everything Outside, which was shown in Vancouver and Durban International Film Festivals before its release in Quebec. His recent video essays are released by CBC, and Occupation Double, Mon Amour was featured on Sight and Sound as one of the best video essays of 2025. His fiction has been published in Chicago Quarterly Review, the Pinch, and Grain. He lives in Montreal.
