Raye Hendrickson
Raye Hendrickson, poet
Raye Hendrickson has loved words her entire life. They have fed her, moved her to laughter and to tears, and stretched her mind. Raye writes poetry to discover who she is and what she thinks, and if her poetry can fill a space in someone’s soul, it is worth every hour of wrestling to find just the right phrase. Raye’s work has appeared in several anthologies and literary magazines including Event, grain, Prairie Fire, spring, and Transition. Her first book of poetry, Five Red Sentries, was shortlisted for two 2020 Saskatchewan Book Awards.
Elephant Skin, Shed, The Fence, We, and The Choice — Volume 9, Issue 4
Through five compelling poems—Elephant Skin, Shed, The Fence, We, and The Choice—Raye Hendrickson shares an intimate exploration of emotional exposure and the delicate negotiations between protection and intimacy.
